Presentation Title: Stabilisation and Thermal Management in the Delivery Room

Speaker: Dr Jennifer Dawson 

Synopsis: Thermoregulation during the transition from intrauterine to extrauterine life is important for infants at all gestations. Whilst preterm infants are at the greatest risk for hypothermia even mature infants can become cold. Additionally, hyperthermia can also cause harm. In this session, we will discuss some of the unusual and more evidence-based methods for keeping infants warm.

Presentation Title: Care of the largest organ: burden or opportunity?

Synopsis: Skin is the interface of the human body. Skin assessment and care should be initiated from the time of birth, during hospitalisation and beyond discharge. A panel of expert neonatal clinicians and professionals will discuss implications of standards  for skin care, risk assessment tools and answer your burning questions.
